Here are a few tips that can help when using the ParaMind Professional Version One way to create more meaningful sentences it to merge on short word groups, say up to four words Good ParaMind sentences for the Automatic Merge, as displayed in using short word groups of four words, have fewer multiple word phrases, such as back up to mean reverse, or far away to mean distant Word phrases often are not good in Automatic and other merges because word phrases work in unity Back doesnt work without up in back up When you merge on one word that was supposed to work in unison with other words, you get word phrases that were never supposed to co-exist, and in this case inventiveness usually doesnt pay off This is unlike the replacement of a single word adjective or noun with another single word adjective or noun To show the power of using short word groups brainstorming shorthand, lets take the short word group: fun birthday party places and click on the Automatic Merge button Then we select the Simple Large Merge button

To use the Automatic Merge, we use condensed versions of our idea sentences For instance, if one is looking for work, and one wants to get hired and work in an office, and get a good salary, we would take four major words Here is an example of selecting Create Complex Large Merge with this business type sentence: Office employee hired salary

Automatically, ParaMind came up with many interesting merges or idea lists They are not in the form of grammatical sentences, but ParaMind can also do that, of course However, with the Automatic Merge, it sometimes will not be easy to make perfectly grammatical sentences but instead brainstorm shorthands Its interesting the linguistic relationship that these Word Categories create For instance, the word office is often associated with the word party, as in office party So ParaMind gives you an example of social interaction in a work
environment This is the beauty and dynamics of the ParaMind Word Category environments working together: they show you the different relationships words have to each other If you put in many determiner words or prepositions, words such as other, the, and few, you have more of a choice of also not having grammatical sentences The program will put in different types of determiners than yours and it will change the grammar of the sentence For instance: To get a good job, you have to be skilful should be: To get good job, be skillful And then ParaMind can come up with this advice, among others:

city star schools future city cosmic ray protestant future city cosmic ray chairperson future city Of course, you can select any of these for a new group of merges and start again Note: make sure you dont highlight your entire sentence when you merge For example, if you select Automatic Merge when highlighting your sentence ParaMind will think your sentence is one word If you like the way one word is coming up in your merge outputs and idea lists, you can do a search on just that word to be taken to the areas where it is represented so you can quickly read that 
area If you dont like the way one word is coming up in your merge outputs and idea lists, you can do a search and replace on just that word to be taken to the areas where it is represented Any time you do a search on Replace by Category Exact, you will get a smaller merge than if you were to chose Replace by Category Partial And to make the largest merges, you would pick up to 25 word categories by hand When selecting Automatic Merge, we found that the program would go on forever in partial mode with an average sized sentences, making hundreds of new screens and on slower computers, making the computer process the ParaMind
merge for up to an hour So, we defaulted the Replace by Category type to Exact, so that not that many sentences would be displayed and that they would all make more sense Unfortunately you must always select at least one category when the program prompts you for it So this takes away the Automatic Merging function In our next version we plan on putting back in the Partial versions Automatic Merge features, but we didnt want to delay the release any longer to keep staying in the development cycle Plus, having very long computer processing times is a bit of a problem The Automatic Merge will occasionally determine if your sentence is better off with a Simple Merge routine rather than a Complex Merge one, so on rare occasions you will see the title bar of
your merge windows displaying Simple Merge instead of Complex Merge even if you selected Complex Merge To get the largest merge results you would not use Automatic Merge Try selecting Automatically Select Words, which will automatically also select Automatically Select Categories and then select Merge Wizard and then Complex for the merge type Also select Replace by Category Partial All you do at this point is press the Next button
through all the choices until you arrive at the Finish button on the Ready to Merge screen You will get many more merges doing this routine than the Automatic Merge routines
Icon 1- Automatically Select Categories button, Icon 2- Automatically Select Words button, Icon 3- Merge Wizard button If you are finding that you still want more merges to be created at one time, simply unselect the Replace by Category type you are using The Replace by Category will stay selected as a type of a toggle — once you use it, you have to unselect the functions completely if you want them off Then after you have your sentence on the screen, select the Complex Merge button one can also do this with the Merge Wizard and selecting Complex Make sure all the words are highlighted as words to be merged on This is what the Change Selected Words function does — it automates the selection of all words or no words, which can be useful when you are using this shorter sentence brainstorming shorthand

Make sure none of the checkboxes are selected You sometimes have to click them off in sequence because using automatic
features will keep them selected for you If a Replace by Category box should be checked, you can also unselect it in successive screens, which will then show an unfiltered list of all of ParaMinds Word Categories You can then use the Filters if you have mostly nouns, and change Filters in the middle of the merges For instance, if we use our Space people future city example, you would use the Adjective filters on space, and the Nouns filter on people, the Adjectives filter on future and then the
Nouns filter on city This greatly speeds up the choice of selecting good ParaMind Word Categories
